Turning Off Your Primary SIM

Turning Off Your Primary SIM

Using BENOsim for your mobile data doesn’t require you to disable your main SIM, but some users prefer to turn it off completely to avoid accidental roaming charges. If you’d rather not risk using your primary number while abroad, here’s how you can temporarily switch it off:

On iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Cellular
  3. Select your Primary Plan
  4. Toggle Turn On This Line to OFF

This deactivates your SIM, meaning you won’t be able to call, text, or use data on that line until you turn it back on.

On Samsung:

  1. Open Settings, then go to Connections
  2. Tap either Mobile Networks or SIM Card Manager
  3. Switch off your Primary Plan

Disabling this line will prevent all activity (calls, texts, data) on that SIM until reactivated.

On Google Pixel:

  1. Head to Settings > Network & Internet
  2. Select Mobile Network and disable your Primary Line

You won’t be able to use your original SIM until you re-enable it.
