Recommended eSIM Settings for iPhone

To ensure optimal performance of your BENOsim on an iPhone or iPad, please verify the following settings after completing the installation:

Enable Your BENOsim

  • Go to Settings > Cellular > SIMs
  • Select your BENOsim
  • Toggle “Turn On This Line” to ON

Enable Data Roaming for BENOsim

  • Go to Settings > Cellular > SIMs > BENOsim
  • Turn “Data Roaming” ON

Note: On iOS 16.4 and later, this may not be required, but enabling it is still recommended for consistent connectivity.

Disable Data Roaming for Your Primary SIM

  • Go to Settings > Cellular > SIMs > Primary SIM
  • Ensure “Data Roaming” is OFF

This prevents potential roaming charges from your main carrier.

Set Network Selection to Automatic

  • Go to Settings > Cellular > SIMs > BENOsim > Network Selection
  • Ensure “Automatic” is enabled

Check iMessage Configuration

  • Go to Settings > Messages > iMessage
  • Confirm that messages can be sent and received via your Apple ID email address.

iMessage will continue to function using Wi-Fi or mobile data, even without a phone number.

Set BENOsim as Cellular Data Source

  • Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data
  • Select your BENOsim
  • Disable “Allow Cellular Data Switching” to prevent the device from using the wrong SIM for data

Keep Your Default Voice Line as Your Phone Number

  • Go to Settings > Cellular > Default Voice Line
  • Choose your Primary SIM (your regular phone number)

BENOsim does not support voice calls or traditional SMS. If the primary SIM is turned off, BENO may temporarily become the default, but it cannot be used for calling or texting. Once your primary SIM is reactivated, set it as the default again.
