My Data Is Enabled, But I Still Can’t Connect?
If your BENOsim data plan is active and set as your device’s primary mobile data source, but you're unable to access the internet, the issue is often easy to resolve.
Important: Do not delete your eSIM—once removed, it cannot be restored. Instead, review the following steps to identify and resolve the issue:
1. Are You in the Correct Country or Region?
BENOsim plans are region-specific.
For example, a Mexico data plan will only function when you're physically in Mexico. While you may install your eSIM before departure, it will not connect to a local network until you arrive in the designated country.
2. Is Your Device Compatible?
Ensure your smartphone or tablet supports eSIM functionality.
If unsure, please refer to the [BENOsim Compatibility Checker].
3. Have You Properly Activated Your Data Plan?
Confirm that your BENOsim has been correctly activated and selected as your mobile data source in your device’s settings.
4. Is Data Roaming Enabled for BENOsim?
Go to your device’s settings and ensure Data Roaming is turned ON for your BENOsim.
Without roaming enabled, your eSIM may not connect to a local network.
Note: If you have a primary SIM installed, its Data Roaming should remain OFF to avoid unexpected charges.
5. Is Airplane Mode Enabled?
If you see an airplane icon at the top of your screen, your device is in Airplane Mode, which disables all network connectivity. Turn it OFF, then wait a moment to see if your data connection is restored.
6. Is Your APN Correctly Configured?
Verify that the APN (Access Point Name) settings are correctly set to:
Name: beno
APN: beno
An incorrect APN can prevent your device from establishing a data connection.
7. Is Your Device Carrier-Unlocked?
BENOsims can only be used on unlocked devices.
If your device is restricted to a specific carrier, it will not support third-party eSIM plans. You can verify this using the last step in the BENOsim compatibility check.
If you see an error such as “Cellular Plans from This Carrier Cannot Be Added,” please contact your carrier to request an unlock.
8. Is Network Selection Set to “Automatic”?
To allow BENOsim to connect to the strongest available network, ensure Network Selection is set to Automatic. If it was manually adjusted, reset it to automatic mode following our support instructions.
If you’ve completed these steps and your data is still not working, there may be a temporary network issue in your area.
