How to Install an eSIM on Your iPhone or iPad


Enjoy instant access to mobile data in over 200 countries by installing your digital SIM on your iPhone or iPad. Once you have purchased a data plan, you may install the eSIM while connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data—even before your departure.




Step 1: Open BENOsim and Select Your eSIM


Launch the BENOsim app and sign in. Navigate to [My eSIM] in the bottom menu, select the desired eSIM, and tap [Install & Activate > Go To Install].




Step 2: Select an Installation Method


There are two options for installation: QR Code and Manual.

Choose how you want to install BENOsim on your device.

Step 3: Follow the installation guide on BENOsim app or website


Tap [QR Code Installation Guide] or [Manual Installation Guide]. Our in-app instructions will guide you through the process visually. If you are not yet in the country associated with your eSIM, the eSIM will install but data services will not activate until you arrive.




Step 4: Set Your Primary SIM as the Default Line


When prompted to choose a Default Line for calls and messages, select your iPhone’s Primary SIM. Even if you do not plan to use your domestic phone number abroad, it must remain your Default Line.




Step 5: Select Your Primary SIM for iMessage & FaceTime


Choose your Primary SIM as the default for iMessage and FaceTime as well.

We’ll ensure iMessage and FaceTime are correctly linked to your Apple ID to function with or without your phone number.




Step 6: Choose a Cellular Data Line


If prompted to select a data source, your iPhone may be recognizing multiple available options.


  • If you're still at home, choose your Primary SIM.
  • If you've already arrived at your travel destination, select your eSIM.
  • Make sure [Allow Cellular Data Switching] is turned OFF.

Step 8: Prepare to Use Your Data


Now that your eSIM is successfully installed, you can configure your iPhone to use the prepaid data package. Even if you're not yet ready to use your data plan, you can complete setup steps in advance.
