How to Determine if Your Phone Is Carrier-Locked
How to Determine if Your Phone Is Carrier-Locked
To check whether your device is restricted to a specific carrier, insert a SIM card from a different provider. If your phone fails to connect or displays a message such as “SIM not supported,” it is likely carrier-locked.
For iPhone users:
Navigate to Settings > General > About and scroll to the Carrier Lock or Network Lock section. If the message states “No SIM restrictions,” your device is unlocked.
For Android users:
Look under Settings > Network or Mobile Networks for a similar indication regarding SIM restrictions.
If you're unsure about your device's lock status, contact your current carrier. They can confirm whether your device is locked and, if eligible, assist with unlocking it for use with BENOsim or other providers.
