How Can I Verify If My Phone Is Carrier Locked?

BENOsim installation requires that your device is not restricted to a specific carrier.

To determine if your phone is carrier-locked, please follow the instructions below.

For iOS Devices—iPhone, iPad :

  1. Open Settings
  2. Navigate to General
  3. Select About
  4. Scroll down to locate Carrier Lock or Network Provider Lock

If a carrier’s name appears, your device is locked to that network and cannot be used with other carriers until unlocked. In this case, please contact your current carrier to request unlocking. If it displays No SIM restrictions, your device is unlocked and compatible with multiple networks.

For Android Devices—Samsung, Google, etc. :

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select Network & Internet or Connections
  3. Tap Cellular Network or Mobile Network
  4. Choose Advanced
  5. Select Choose Network or Automatically Select Network

If only one carrier is listed, your phone is likely locked to that carrier. You will need to contact them to unlock the device before using BENOsim.

If multiple carriers appear, your device is unlocked and ready for use with various networks.

*Note: Some carriers, such as Verizon, may enforce a minimum lock period of six months before unlocking a new device.
