“eSIM Cannot Be Added” – What It Means and How to Resolve It

If your device displays the message “eSIM cannot be added” during installation, it may be due to a weak network connection or because the eSIM has already been successfully installed. This issue is commonly seen on iOS devices when using a QR code or setting up manually.

On Android devices, the same message may appear if the eSIM is already active, if Airplane Mode is turned on, if the device is not connected to a stable Wi-Fi network, or if you are attempting to reinstall an eSIM that was previously deleted.

How to Check if Your eSIM Is Already Installed:

  • Look for a second network signal icon at the top of your screen — this usually indicates the eSIM is active.
  • Go to [Settings > General > About] and verify whether an ICCID appears under the SIM section.

  • Ensure your device is running the latest software version.
  • Connect to a reliable and stable Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart your device to reset potential configuration issues.
  • Temporarily turn off mobile data, wait a few minutes, and then turn it back on.

If the issue persists, further support may be required from your eSIM provider.
